Privacy policy

A short policy, because we collect almost nothing. Last updated 31 August 2026.

The short version

What we collect

Information you give us

Virtually nothing. There are no accounts and no login. If you use the newsletter field on the homepage, we receive the email address you type. If you email us, we receive whatever you choose to send.

Information collected automatically

We don't run Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any third-party analytics or advertising tracker on this site.

Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, necessarily processes some technical data in order to deliver pages to your browser — things like your IP address, user agent, requested URL and timestamp. This is standard for any website and is used to serve content, maintain security, and mitigate abuse. Cloudflare may also set security-related cookies such as __cf_bm to distinguish real visitors from automated traffic. We don't have access to Cloudflare's raw logs or use them to build profiles.

Clarity Quiz answers

None. The Clarity Quiz runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your answers are never transmitted to a server, never stored, and never associated with you. Closing the tab destroys them.

Cookies

We don't set cookies ourselves. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies as described above. We don't use advertising, analytics or personalisation cookies.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect some functionality.

Email

If you submit your email address for new-guide notifications, we use it for that purpose only. We don't sell or share it, and every message will include a one-click unsubscribe. You can also ask us to delete it at any time by emailing us.

For readers in the EEA and UK, we rely on:

Your rights under these regulations include access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. To exercise any of them, contact us. You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.

Children

This site is written for adults and isn't directed at children under 16. We don't knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us and we'll remove it.

If this changes

We may add advertising in future. If we do, advertising partners typically set cookies and process data independently under their own policies. We will update this page to reflect that before anything goes live, and we'll keep the changes visible rather than burying them.

Third-party links

We link to external sites, including crisis services and research sources. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their privacy practices. Check their policies before submitting information.

Contact

Questions about this policy, or about your data: contact us. We'll respond as promptly as we can.
